A recent study found that the average golfer walks about 900 miles a year. Another study found golfers drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year, which means, on average, golfers get about 41 miles to the gallon. Kind of makes you proud. I almost feel like a hybrid.
Guidelines for playing in the Valdosta Saturday Golf Scramble: Whenever a game is called, whether for rain or some other extraordinary reason, all teams will be asked to submit their card at the time they are notified that the game has been called. Should players decide to continue to play the rest of the round, that is up to them. However, to be included in the tallying of the scores for payouts for that day, they must submit their card at the time the game is called. Otherwise, they will forfeit their entry money. The winners will be determined by using the scores as of the last hole played by all teams, provided it is hole #5 or higher. Should everyone not been able to complete hole #5, then all monies will be returned and no winners declared. This is standard practice for most tournaments.
